Diverse carrier entrances

Two carriers are not physically diverse when their routes converge in the same trench, building entrance, riser or room.

How it works

Trace each service from an external route through separate entrance facilities and pathways to its intended termination.

Where it fits

Sites whose service objective depends on surviving a localized carrier or pathway event.

Where it breaks

Commercial provider names are being used as evidence of physical route independence.

Tradeoff register

  • Reduces localized route exposure
  • Requires outside-plant evidence
  • Diversity can be lost during later carrier changes

Interactive teaching model

This card connects to the network lab. Its output is a bounded calculation or an illustrative directional model, not measured site data or a commissioned design result.
