Overhead busway distribution

A modular busway can simplify rack-feed changes, but fault duties, tap-off practices and overhead coordination still govern.

How it works

Distribute power along a rated bus with localized tap-off units instead of running a dedicated long cable to every rack.

Where it fits

White spaces with evolving rack layouts and a need for repeatable, visible distribution.

Where it breaks

Site fault levels, clearances, loading, monitoring or safe change procedures are unresolved.

Tradeoff register

  • Flexible adds and changes
  • Concentrates an important shared element
  • Requires disciplined phase loading and protection
